The journey of elections and democracy in Indonesia has a long history with all its dynamics. Along with the development of technology and the internet, elections also experience their own challenges. One of them is the presence of information chaos in the form of misinformation, disinformation, and malinformation that can damage the democratic order. We can learn from the organization of elections in 2014, 2019 and 2024. How massive disinformation spread through conversation applications and social media.

In response to the challenges mentioned above, especially in the context of election disinformation, various organizations have formed initiatives to work together to face election disinformation. The efforts of coordination, collaboration and joint action are contained in the book Gotong Royong Lawan Disinformasi Pemilu, Upaya Multipihak di Indonesia. The book has five sections with the contents of each chapter based on experience. The first section discusses the phenomenon of information flooding in the 2019 elections and lost voting rights. The second section discusses the establishment of multi-stakeholder collaboration to prevent and counter election disinformation. The third section is about collaborative efforts and strengthening civil society. The fourth section reviews the challenges of the 2024 elections and evaluates the collaboration. The fifth section contains the replication of the Coalition Against Disinformation in the regions.

What is contained in this book is a beginning and can serve as inspiration for other works to emerge. An initial effort to record the things that the coalition has experienced and done. In the end, it becomes a lesson as a foothold to move into the future.
